50 years Great Gobi B Protected Area

Mid of August the BACCP II/III team visited the Great Gobi to review the present-day achievements of the Great Gobi B Strictly Protected Area. The 9000 square kilometers habitat for snow leopards, golden eagles and Przewalski's wild horses is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its official declaration a protected site. For over twenty years of this time span ECO Consult has advised its development and contributed to the touristic marketing of its natural wealth alongside government benchmarks and buffer zone herders' participation. It was a special moment therefore for ECO Consult CTA Esa Haapasalo (center) to commence his field mission together with Project Coordinator Tulga Mendjargal (left) and Gansukh Gongor, Protected Area and Buffer Zone Coordinator, with a small exhibition on site.
