Primary Education Programme: Individual and institutional capacity building for improved training management
Description and objectives
The PEP module contributes to the implementation of Niger's ten-year sector programme for the education sector (Programme Sectoriel de l'Education et de la Formation 2014-2024, PSEF) since 2013, as well as two technical cooperation measures promoting the construction of school classrooms (PEP and PICCT). Due to insufficient implementation during the first half of the PSEF period, a transition plan (Plan de transition du secteur de l'éducation et de la formation 2020-2022, PTSEF) was adopted to address the weaknesses of the Nigerien education system with a significant donor contribution. In line with the identified core problem, the project uses a multi-level approach to improve the conditions for adequate education planning in order to allocate and use existing resources in the education system efficiently. Since 2014, ECO Consult has been responsible for the implementation of PEP activities.
