Inclusive and labour market relevant cooperative training programmes for young women and men are integrated in the Kenyan System of Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET) in all five regions of Kenya
Our contribution
Supporting Kenya School for Technical Vocational Training (KSTVET) and the Technical Vocational Education Training Authority (TVETA) to implement a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) policy framework for TVET teachers
Component 1: Conducting a gap analysis of the CPD framework
• Main activities: i) Conducting a comprehensive analysis of the existing CPD framework; ii) Reviewing best practices and international standards in CPD; iii) identifying gaps and areas for improvement; and iv) providing recommendations and presenting a roadmap for the way forward
Component 2: Revising and validating CPD framework
• Main activities: i) Facilitating the formation of workgroups of key stakeholders and guiding them to develop a revised CPD framework; and ii) Organizing validation sessions with stakeholders to incorporate feedback on the revised CPD framework
Component 3: Supporting the implementation of the revised CPD framework
• Main activities: i) Developing a work plan and platform for the roll out of a comprehensive CPD programme; and ii) providing capacity building measures for the implementing personnel as well as preparing required documents such as, guidelines, training manuals, tutorials and other relevant documents
