ECO Consult at the Salon SAHEL

The 8th SAHEL exhibition (Salon SAHEL-NIGER 2025) in the adjacents of Niamey was a mandatory event for ECO Consult's  representatives of Component 3 of the GIZ PromAP 4 Programme. At the opening ceremony, CEO Dietrich Busacker was joined by Dr Sani Mamadou Abdou Gaoh, Deputy Coordinator of the GIZ-Niger Agriculture Cluster (middle), who is also in charge of the activities of the ProPFR Programme (right: a staff assistant of the agricultural show). The visit to the exhibition, on the occation of a project mission provided an overview of regional production and agricultural extension services. Niger seeks to enhance its crisis resilience by both encouraging subsistence farming and, developing value chains for the market - as was reflected in the present fair's agenda, which put an emphasis on synergies with regional and supra-regional private sector companies. The 2025 gatherings took place under the title of 'Development and promotion of agro-sylvo-pastoral and fishery products'. The 6-day-exhibition is a major national event that serves as an exchange and exhibition platform for stakeholders in the agricultural, pastoral hydraulic and environmental sectors. It aims to promote local products, encourage dialogue between producers and the authorities, and build participants' capacities through training and practical workshops.
