YOUR PROFILE
Master’s degree or equivalent in ecological science, nature conservation management, natural resource management or another relevant field.
At least ten years’ experience and at least five years’ experience in the last ten years as team leader for a project of related scope and similar complexity.
YOUR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement the consulting component as main focal point / contact person
- Lead and supervise the national personnel of the implementation consultant (IC) team
- Support the project implementation unit (PIU) of the Ministry and the national programme director in:
- updating and/or adapting the project design
- drawing up and adapting the operational plan
- the development of technical approaches
- impact monitoring, processing and dissemination of experience
- financial planning and management of funds
- the preparation and implementation of interim evaluations
- the preparation of a follow-up phase
- Coordinate work steps with key project stakeholders
- Ensure clear communication with and transparency for the counterpart and key project partners
- Ensure overall project management and monitor / document work progress
- Ensure project administration and accountability of the German contribution, in particular administration and accounting of the project funds provided by the ARGE
- Identify the need for national and international short-term assignments within the available budget, prepare ToR, manage and supervise the deployment of experts
- Quality control of the performance of project staff and service providers
- Coordinate training measures
- Plan and supervise project-accompanying studies liaising with other donors and the German Embassy
- Represent the project and liaise with other donors/partners on site
- Coordinate knowledge management
- Regular reporting and preparation of the final report of the programme in English
QUALIFICATIONS
- Management of development projects
- Leadership of project implementation teams / national consultants
- Experience with German Financial Cooperation
- Experience in working counterpart institutions at Ministry level
- Protected area management and conservation
- Integrated rural development
- Community development
- Co-management
- Financial administration of development projects
- Project design, coordination, and reporting
At least five years’ experience working in development projects in Asia.
English at ECF level C1 in all four skills.
