The person should have the following educational background and experience:

• University degree in Agriculture sciences (MSc/PhD);

• Have at least 20 years professional experience including five years as a Team Leader on EU Projects;

• Prior experience of the procurement of supplies, services and works preferably using EC systems;

• Demonstrated leadership qualities, cross-cultural sensitivity, ability to foster teamwork and team spirit,
ability to negotiate consensus on approach, strategies/management systems of project objectives;

• Experience in designing similar interventions in land-locked countries will be an asset, especially in a South Asian, Asian or Developing Country context;

• Experience with projects on sustainable agriculture and marketing;

• Experience in working with farmer associations and a demonstrated track record of contributing to the establishment of sustainable farmer organisations;

• Excellent management and communication skills;

• Excellent written and spoken English.
