INTEGRATED Solutions FOR global bioRESOURCES MANAGEMENT
An approximate 60 percent of the ecosystem services that support life
on Earth – such as production of wood for firewood and shelter,
soil fertility, watershed protection or biosphere resilience –
are fragile or degraded (UN Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, 2005).
Loss of bioresources can move people from stable better-off positions
to temporal, seasonal or chronic poverty. Poverty reduction, top of
the agenda of the Millennium Development Goals, and mitigation of
climate change will not be viable without efficient strategies for
bioresources management. The ECO Consulting Group assists in maintaining
the productivity of natural assets and life support systems, since
1992. |
