Moving forward with wood energy governance

Cameroon, the D.R. Congo, Madagascar and Senegal share the concern of shrinking forest resources alongside rising wood energy consumption. Precautionary policies have been put on track, as a reaction. These pertain, among others, to frameworks for land allocation, regulatory taxation and organisational support for forest user groups. For GIZ, ECO Consult has reviewed country advisory staff's on-site assessments to present a systematic analysis of remaining bottlenecks on the way to formalize the wood energy sector.
