The service offer consists
of an extension/training seminar on forest science. The target
group is principally open (professionals in forest-related
business environments, but without a formal qualification
in forestry), but in practice made up mainly of development-cooperation
personnel (both of donor agencies, and partner organizations
in developing countries).
Applying a modular set-up, the course-structure reflects all
relevant fields of forest science (forest policy and law,
forest economics, administration, management planning and
silviculture, harvesting of forest products (including transport),
nature protection, wildlife management, forest protection
(pest-control, suppression of wildfires, etc.).
Participants are free to determine the focus of the course
according to their specific needs, and select the appropriate
modules. They are provided with a complete set of course material.
The seminar consists of intensive teaching sessions, group
discussions and field trips.
