Conservation and sustainable use of ecosystems
in the Soudano-Sahelian zone (Phase ii)

| The consortium assists the national
park Zakouma (PNZ) and its peripheral zone to capitalize on
the sustainable management system at ecological, financial,
institutional and social level. |
|
|
| Activities comprise: advise on sustainable
financing and effective management systems , the conservation
of the biological (biodiversity, and natural functions of the
ecosystems) and cultural heritage. They support the development
of scientific research in life sciences, as well as eco tourism.
Activities for recreation, environmental awareness raising and
education as well as advanced training are implemented. The
social and economic conditions based on the sustainable management
of natural resources and certain mechanisms of the local population,
which profit from the PNZ’s existence, are improved. |
