Moving forward with wood energy governance

Cameroon, the D.R. Congo, Madagascar and Senegal share the concern of shrinking forest resources alongside rising wood energy consumption. Precautionary policies have been put on track, as a reaction. These pertain, among others, to frameworks for land allocation, regulatory taxation and organisational support for forest user groups. For German Development Cooperation, ECO Consult has reviewed national experts' on-site accounts to present a systematic analysis of remaining bottlenecks on the way to formalize the wood energy sector. Mauritania: Videos released on Youtube

"Decentralizers" wrap up thier work for web users

Using online channels is part of the extensive public relations activities of the "Education and Training of Decentralisation Agents" project in Mauritania. The project, implemented by ECO Consult and IRAM has now released three films on YouTube (10:29, 7:13, 4.04). The videos document project activities and show excerpts of local media coverage. German Cooperation is represented, among others, by GIZ Country Director Claudia Hermes. Interesting for funders and third parties, the films also contribute to shaping a more citizen-friendly and transparent political culture of the public service – one of the project's ultimate goals. Other public relations tools disseminated are posters, postcards and an interactive map of administrative units. More and video links...
